Bowmanville's lime hydration

To reduce SO2 emissions at St Marys Cement’s Bowmanville plant in Canada, the cement producer injects lime into the SO2 gas stream using purchased hydrated lime. To save this significant cost, a lime hydrator was installed at the works by FLSmidth, which not only eliminated the need to acquire the hydrated lime but also associated transport and storage costs.
